It happens to all of us, we stay on our meal plans for a good stretch and then one night watching Netflix ends up leading to an empty carton of ice cream. Due to my recent walk of shame sugar binge, it was time for a detox to reset my body. “Diet” is an intimidating word, I like to call getting back on track as “lifestyle adjustments.” Starting with the basics before cutting yourself off completely is much less daunting, imagine never eating pizza again?! A good first step is minimizing those empty calories we consume through our drinking choices. Water gets a bad rap for being dull and flavorless on the bright side good ol’ H2o contains zero calories. With one quick trip to a local farmers market, there are many tasty ways you can find to add some bang to your beverage. Using low sugar fruits, herbs, and vegetables not only are you getting a great taste but also discover the beauty benefits you’ll be sure to notice the next time you snap a #selfie!

- “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT)
Let’s face it life happens, there will always be cake for a celebration, margaritas on a girls night out, & Grandma’s Christmas cookies. Don’t be so hard on yourself when you fall off a fitness plan. Instead, thank God for Monday’s to start fresh and continue to make changes that make your temple feel GOOD!
